JOBS
Upon arrival, everyone is given a set of work clothes which may vary in colour but the styles shown here are the default uniforms. Note that gender doesn't matter; everyone gets the same clothing. These uniforms are only worn by employees and though depending on species and body shape the Witch may have to have them tailored, they will still distinguish employees from everyone else on the island.
Of course, depending on the job one chooses, additional uniforms will be provided. These can vary and we'll leave that up to you to decide on something appropriate for the job. A more Western area would have a more Western style of uniform, things like that. Have fun choosing!
But how does a character find and choose a job? Luckily there are job postings all over the employee quarters and there are always, always openings for any job at all. If there is a niche, it needs to be filled and the sky is the limit. If it can help or entertain customers, the Witch would give it her full stamp of approval.
The below list is not a complete list by any means! It's only meant to give some basic ideas. If you have any questions on a job idea and if it requires or comes with anything different, please feel free to ask us!
Cleaning Staff - Self-explanatory. Cleaning staff, as expected, comprises a fair deal of the island’s workforce! Cleaners are responsible for:
- Laundry
- Cleaning of living spaces and kitchens, et al
- Ensuring supplies are in stock
Cooking Staff - Found in restaurants around the island, in addition to the bathhouse itself. Responsibilities include:
- Chefs
- Waiters/Waitresses
- Dishroom
- Food prep
Bouncers/Guards - Found wandering the city and around the entrances to bars and similar establishments, it’s a bouncer or guard’s job to:
- Capture any wandering outsiders
- Deal with unruly patrons
- Patrol the city and keep peace
- Due to the nature of their job, they are encouraged to wear masks so spirits cannot seek revenge on them.
- Guards and related duties are allowed to keep their weapon or a weapon
Farm Workers
- Grow and tend to crops
- Deliver them to the different restaurants and bathhouse
Animal Handlers
- Clean pens
- Feed animals
- For special animals like horses, give them exercise and so on
- Occasionally take care of guests' pets (this sometimes includes humans)
Butchers
- Just what it says.
Gardeners
- Keep the town and island looking beautiful
- Tend to all gardens and trees
- Grow the flowers
- Also in charge of arranging bouquets. A person who works a gardening job may find themselves in charge of a florist’s shop at one point!
Bathhouse Attendants
- Fill the baths
- Fetch and mix the soaps and salts
- Clean baths after shift
- Two attendants per small bath/Three-Five for bigger baths
Spa Workers
- Offer massages, hair/fur/whatever care, general pampering tailored to a patrons' needs
Hosts
- Handle patrons' money (don't miscount or you're in trouble!)
- Escort patrons
- Run messages between different areas
- In gambling dens, handle the tables
General Tradespeople
- Soap and Bath Salt Makers (mainly employed by the bathhouse)
- Tailors
- Craftsmen
- Potion Makers
- Pyrotechnics for fireworks
- Entertainers (musicians, actors, comedians, dancers, artists, combat exhibitionists, magicians)

Would he be able to work as a healer? Either with a set-up office, or even doing house/room visits. Since his whole thing is controlling chi, not traditional medicine, I figured it could be helpful for both workers and spirits alike?

In canon, Travis is an assassin and he also works a bunch of part-time jobs, like flipping burgers, pest control, and general handyman work. Are characters limited to just one job or can he take multiple positions as long as he's willing to work them?
As well: he uses a beam katana (read: light-saber for weaboos) for combat. If he's contracted for guard work, may he use that?

1) Workers are encouraged to take as many jobs as they'd like to find the one most suitable for them.
2) He may not be given that back right off the bat, but he could get an actual sword, either wooden or steel.

How would a job being a 'Paranormal Investigator' be handled? That is to say, I'd love if Krist would be able to investigate the different types of guests and figure out the best way to make their visit as enjoyable as possible. Like the scooby doo of hospitality services. I think it would be fun and something she'd be well suited to do!

How would that go?

I have a jobs question! Do you think that there's maybe a library or a place where they keep historical records in Koriko? As a tourist spot, perhaps there's a place where people can look at the rich history and maybe check out a book for their stay at the resort!
Daria is an avid reader and loves to learn, so it would be a cool place for her to work if there is!

I've got a job question. Since Victor has abilities that let him heal people, including injuries that are severe, would the Witch be amicable to setting him up with a clinic? Since he works primarily via magic, and one of those focuses on spirits, it'd totally save her money - plus it might stop her getting sued if any spirits are feeling particularly... litigious. Healthy employees and customers are happier ones, right?
This could double up as his housing, and I'm hoping it could provide a workplace for other characters if CR heads that way.
