Characters remember their original name due to some kind of trigger event. It can be something simple like a character named Sakura being asked what her favorite flower is, or something more complex like a character with strong memories associated with music hearing something from their home. It can also be a result of significant character development in-game!

Whatever the trigger event is, the character just remembers the name suddenly afterward, like a word they've been trying to come up with all day.
