Both mods are familiar with When They Cry, but neither of us would consider ourselves Rika experts; while she's not attached to her birth name, it seems more to us that she doesn't appear any more detached than anyone else, circumstances aside. Would you mind explaining where the idea that she doesn't identify with it at all comes from?
