katsa is one of sarah's roommates! and she'll want to look out for her. she won't be very good at the emotions thing yet, but she'll be doing her best. and katsa's own character development revolves a lot around independence and personal agency, so it's important to her to help other girls to have the tools to their own journey through that if that's something that could be figured out with how you're planning to take sarah to growing into her independence.

Sarah honestly needs someone to look out for her this early in the game, hahaha. If it's a roommate, even better. The zombie apocalypse has everyone struggling emotionally, so as long as someone isn't actively cruel to her, Sarah won't mind terribly.

And that sounds great! A lot of Sarah's character revolves around the fact her father goes out of his way to keep her from harm but puts a chokehold on her own competence and self-confidence because of it, and she's frustrated by it. Having someone to encourage her own growth would be fantastic.
