i don't even want to talk about ice cream beat.

never again.

It was bad and the folks behind it should feel bad.

But then.

BBS HD.

I want my Frozen Fortune, darn them.
gokuri: (▶ we need to answer)

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-04 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
bbs hd. oh my god i can't wait it's going to be so glorious.
prevail: (glad)

[personal profile] prevail 2014-09-04 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
It will be so beautiful. Gonna give Prize Pods shakedowns for days.

In HD.
gokuri: (▶ are spewing from our mouths)

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-04 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
pretty sure once this comes out i'll never play anything else again.
prevail: (smile)

[personal profile] prevail 2014-09-04 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
My only disappointment is no multiplayer.

I'm a mean healer on Ventus in the Mirage Arena. All my friends liked to use the massive damage AoEs but I prefer having more recovery on my hands.
prevail: (converse)

[personal profile] prevail 2014-09-04 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Granted, some of Ven's attacks heal him, so...
gokuri: (▶ so let the sea and sky collide)

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-04 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
man, some multiplayer would have been really nice.

i'm pretty good with terra and aqua in the arena but for some reason ven's style is always harder for me to manage. mostly, i think, because i have a tendency to rush right in and not really worry about healing until i'm near-death and cursing unversed.

who am i kidding this is every game i play.
prevail: (glad)

[personal profile] prevail 2014-09-04 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
I loved that feature. I'm not a huge multiplayer person, but it sure was fun.

Faith and Salvation were my favorites - aside Time Splicer. Because that one just looks cool. Terra's my weakest point, since he goes against my player type. Speed is always the first on my Want list.

Nothing wrong with leaping into the fray.
gokuri: (▶ for the blood on our hands now)

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-04 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
salvation is wonderful. once i finally melded it i abused the crap out of it, and it doesn't matter which storyline i'm playing i always make sure i have time splicer as soon as i have the means. it's just. it's so great.

i think terra was my strongest suit just because he's a hard, heavy-hitter. of course, aqua can be too once she gets up to a certain point, and even though i can now get through proud mode with her with no difficulties, it still takes some maneuvering on my part to get used to magic-based attacks.

[personal profile] ex_aeroga402 2014-09-04 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
It's the most impressive looking attack. And Salvation's great in a pinch. I think Faith triggers faster which I love, but both cases are golden.

I went through Proud Mode to unlock the ending and whatnot without all the side-grinding type of stuff. Did not want to work harder for that when I could just ram through stronger enemies. But dear lord Aqua on the first world was brutal.
gokuri: (▶ pleading for sanity)

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-04 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
now i really want to play bbs again. even though i'm currently still getting through the final episode on proud mode and i don't want to talk about how long it's taking to level up to a point at which i can effectively knock the crap out of terranort.

i side-grind a lot, though. it's a problem i have in every single rpg i play.

[personal profile] ex_aeroga402 2014-09-04 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Terranort is such a bum. I find it's easiest to level grind before the final episode. There's that round area in Radiant Garden where the trio fought that boss together, and you can just keep going there and spamming Mega Flare and nuking everything.

I'll do all the things if I like a game enough/they're doable with some effort. But just to get the story content, I'm not keen on.

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-05 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
terranort is the bummest of bums. i can't remember what level i'm at but i'm running around never land and killing everything in sight. it takes a little longer, but maybe i'll try that trick and get above 70 and finally kick his bum tail.

this is why i haven't finished dark souls. if you make something too freaking ridiculously difficult right from the beginning, i'm not going to enjoy it. it's just stupid.
prevail: (say)

[personal profile] prevail 2014-09-05 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
If you haven't started the final episode, it made short work of getting Ventus to lv99. If you're already in the final episode, you're likely doing the best thing there is (since I don't think you can hit up RG without engaging in boss battle action then). I went with a largely defensive build for Aqua since that battle was darned rough.

I tend to put down tough games and come back for revenge, but I feel similarly about trophies. If the throwaway/should be easy trophies take forever and a day to get, I consider that unreasonable. Got to be a balance of challenges rather than things designed only to sink time into. I don't mind that for some, but geez.
gokuri: (▶ we need more than miracles)

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-05 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
sigh, i've already started the final episode so i can't go anywhere near radiant garden without engaging the boss. i should have thought of that before i started it, but i was so gung-ho about getting through it again that i forgot that there's no turning back once you've loaded the save data.

ahh, you and i think the same. usually, when i'm playing a game for the first time, if there's a trophy or achievement that i can't get easily, i'll come back later for it or just abandon it altogether. i can either be extremely lazy or entirely too committed when it comes to that sort of thing, so it's pretty much a toss-up depending on how i'm feeling on any given day.

also! this may be random but do you have a plurk? i'd like to add you because i feel like we could be friends - or at least have some interesting gaming conversations. ^^
prevail: (great)

[personal profile] prevail 2014-09-05 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Don't feel too bad, I literally did the exact same thing. Was rather a facepalm-worthy moment at that. I tried to grind and got up to around 55 before deciding I'd just load up on defensive abilities (and ones that trigger fast + leaf bracer) and slam through it. Once you get a rhythm, it's not terrible.

My first platinum was XIII-2. I'm painfully close on XIII, Tales of Xillia, Tales of Graces, and Drakengard 3. If I focused on it I could sweep the ones in NieR. But it's definitely a matter of feeling motivated. I suspect in XIII the one for having one of every item ever at some point in the save file will forever elude me - no way to verify what you're missing.

Not random at all! I actually don't have a Plurk, but I do have AIM if you happen to use that. I know not everybody does. It's always nice to chat about video games though, seriously.

...I swear I will forever misclick Robin's blushing smile icon, haha. That's probably the fifth time I've done it already.

Imagine one day if that happens during something really serious.
gokuri: (▶ dear god -)

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-05 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
the very first time i went in to fight terranort i was around level fifty, thought i had a decent enough setup and i went in all yeah! i can do this! this is gonna happen -

except he killed me in like three seconds, and it only took that long because i am like the master of cartwheeling out of the way. ;;

man, i don't think i have any platinum trophies, but i do have a few impressive achievements on my 360. ( i go back and forth between the two, more than i'm willing to admit. mostly because i started playing mass effect before the trilogy was released on both consoles as a complete series. ) xiii-2 still irks me because i need one more achievement to get my gamerscore back to a multiple of five instead of an odd number ending in 2 or 7, and the fact that it's been at such an odd number for like two years is making my ocd side twitch like you wouldn't believe. ( i do love the series, though, i'm glad to know that i'm not the only one that does! )

i do have aim! i'm voscillates, if you'd like to go ahead and add me. i'm being a ninja at the moment so i won't show up as online but i promise i'm there! it's always really nice to talk about video games when you find a common interest, and i unfortunately have a limited number of people that play the same things as i do.

also that icon. is absolutely precious. ahh, but i do love icon misfires~
prevail: (blush)

[personal profile] prevail 2014-09-05 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
Terranort uses some seriously cheap tricks too, it's such a pain in the rear. But it's definitely doable, especially with quick reflexes. I was honestly better with Ven so it took some tinkering.

Do you mean you need another trophy in XIII-2? I've done them all if you're wondering about any of them in particular. I'm rather fussy with details, though with trophies I mostly get excited when I get close to hitting another "level" based on trophy count and whatnot. Never had a 360, and I wither a little at the idea of trying to save up for one of the newest consoles, but how do PS3 and 360 compare for you?

Ah that's right, I remembered reading that. Gosh my assignments are turning my brain to goo. I've got you added, and mine is lancefaire. And I know the feeling; I have a little overlap with most of my friends, but not always.

FE blushes are the cutest blushes. But seriously it'll be the most inappropriate moment for blushing Robin. Ever. I can see it now.
gokuri: (▶ the other side of me)

[personal profile] gokuri 2014-09-05 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
i do need one more! there are two i've noticed that offer an odd score when awarded, one dealing with using feral links and .. the other i can't quite recall at the moment, but i know the feral link is the one i was going to go for in order to get the achievement to make my gamerscore an even number again. before my first ps3 bit the dust, i was at a decent trophy level and i lost every single bit of my data when i had it repaired, so my current trophy level is something abysmal like two, i think .. and it's embarrassing, honestly.

before i got my 360 i played everything in the ps3, and to be perfectly honest there isn't much in the way of difference between them. it's all a matter of whether you want to pay for xbox live or the psn with the ps4. ( since it's still free with the ps3, and i'm thankful for that. ) as far as everything else goes? games play the same, content display is the same, it's really all a matter of which company you support, microsoft or sony.

which, honestly, is all a matter of perspective. i could go either way.

i really do need to get into the fire emblem fandom. i've been hearing about the games for years and still haven't managed to play them for myself. but inappropriate blushing? it needs to happen.
